Sit On Top Kayaking at Westport House
A “sit-on-top canoe” is just that – a highly buoyant craft normally made of plastic. Canoeing is one of the easiest and quickest ways to enjoy the natural beauty of Westport House & Gardens as well as views of Clew Bay, Clare Island and Croagh Patrick. Our safe, 2 foot deep lake is ideal for those learning and experienced alike. We can arrange races and trials for the teams to complete should you wish.
These are great for fun with the family or friends playing in the lake. Combine the sit on-tops with our SUP Paddle boards and its fun fun fun for a great day of water activities.
During high-season, we schedule 2-3 sessions per day – you can sign up on the day or pre-book in advance by contacting fun@theadventureislands.com or calling +353 98 26907. Outside of high season, we take are delighted to take advanced bookings on the details above.

Kit Requirements
We provide all of the kit including wet suits but please bring along swimming gear to wear underneath, a towel to dry off and water-friendly shoes (e.g. gummy shoes or crocs).
