Camping & Caravans

Testimonials

"I recently visited Westport House with my wife and young son and decided to camp for 3 days - our first camping outing as a family.  All I can say is I hope the rest of our camping experiences will be the same.  The staff there were more than helpful on many occasions...its a definite must for us to go again...from the house to the pirate park to the zorbing area to the lake rides, its a must for any family in my opinion."

"We have been coming here for 20 years and we love  coming back year after year!"

“Just home after 3 great nights camping in Westport House. We had a fantastic time. Kids 8, 5 & 3 had a ball. I would highly recommend this campsite. So easy to entertain the kids. They just loved climbing the trees, playing in the sandpit while we relaxed by tent. Food was lovely at the bar and kids had a ball after dinner in playground and Pirate Den. Was so so impressed with every member of staff. A pleasure to deal with them. Showers and Bathrooms were being cleaned constantly. Figured out on day 2 that the hot showers were in main showering block. The block furthur down were a bit cold for my liking! Remember that if you go there. We went on the Pirate Adventure Day and really enjoyed that. I think was definately worth the money €59. Spent full day there. Bring a picnic and raingear as you will get wet one of the rides. Will defo be back. :-)”

“We are a family of six with 4 kids ranging in age from 17 down to 3 yrs and have been coming to this site for a number of years (with a two year gap (2009 & 2010) to go abroad). The site is a credit to the consistent efforts of management to improve the facilities. It is well managed, clean and tidy. The staff are helpful. The toilets and showers are pristine and most of the pitches are level and close to water facilities. The location is beautiful and the house and gardens are fantastic. The adventure park (though pricey) was really popular with our kids who used the facilities every day. Unlike many sites, there are quite a lot of activities included in the camping price and the soft play area is a real bonus on a rainy evening. Westport is a great little town and can be accessed via a pedestrian path through the park. There is a cinema there and a pool and some great little shops to browse and a ten minute walk takes you to a brand new public play park. There are few parts of the country as stunning as the coastline of Mayo, and fabulous scenery and great beaches are a 20 minute drive away. I know I sound like an advert for the campsite but, taking into account general location, scenery, local facilities e.t.c. it really is very good. Pricewise, caravanning is really good value for a family and they do not adopt the mercenary attitude of most other campsites in R.O.I. by charging for showers, awnings e.t.c. e.t.c.”

"I have been taking my family to Westport House for years and every visit is as exciting and interesting as the last. An absolute must for all the family! The zorbing a particular favourite."

“Just got back from 3 nights stay in wesport house camping park, the place is spotless, the staff are really friendly and helpful, plenty of staff onsite, there is loads to do onsite both indoors and out, we have a 5 year old and we really liked the indoor pirates den area for when it rained, which it did, the gocarts and playground are good and are very close to gracies bar which is nice with an outdoor area good for watching the football, patio heaters were a nice touch.”
