Frightening fun for all the family at Hallowe’en Fest!
Get ready for ghastly ghouls, jumping Jack O’Lanterns and hair-raising hocus pocus. The annual Hallowe’en Fest at Westport House is bringing back the black cats and broomsticks for a fangtastic fright fest from October 24 to 31, from 11am to 5pm daily.
Watch as the House is transformed with webs, wizards and witchcraft – it’s guaranteed to rival any Harry Potter novel!
Indulge your little ones in fun and games, workshops and activities inside the devilishly decorated Westport House. Listen to the wily white witch’s spirited story time, play musical statues at our daily kiddies’ disco, delve into the Spooky Spoons workshop with repulsive recipes made from bat wings and the eyes of toads, and craft a Jack O’Lantern to bring home for the holiday (pumpkin additional €3 charge).
If that’s not enough to get their knees knocking, get them busting some zombie moves! Back by popular demand is our ‘Thriller’ dance workshop, where your little monsters can learn all the moves from Michael Jackson's legendary "Thriller" music video in the formal Large Dining Room of Westport House.
The gruesome good fun continues outdoors with the wickedly wonderful Westport House Express train ride, the fabulously frightening Pirates Plunge and the startlingly speedy Swinging Pirates Ship from 1pm to 5pm daily.
Join all the fun at Hallowe’en Fest and come dressed in your best creepy costume, but be sure to dress for mess if you’re taking part in the Jack O’Lantern or Spooky Spoons workshops which are very hands-on!
New for Halloween Fest 2015!
There’s even more treats planned for our visitors during our Halloween Fest, all thanks to HARIBO, the gums and jellies brand, who will be giving everyone a free mini bag of Starmix or Tangfastics. Simply pop along to the ‘Old Kitchen’ Tea Rooms to collect your frightfully tasty treat this Halloween.
Another first for Halloween Fest 2015, we have a freakily-fun, souvenir photo opportunity for guests to the (haunted) house. Pose in front of our "green screen" in the Long Gallery and see yourselves super-imposed on our gorgeously-gruesome haunted house complete with the Lord of the Darkness and the White Witch. Photos are priced at €10 each or three for €20.
