If you are looking for memories as lasting as the vows you will exchange, then celebrate your wedding at Westport House, voted Ireland’s Best Exclusive Wedding Venue by weddingsonline.ie in 2011 and shortlisted again in 2013.
The historic Westport House puts the WOW into your wedding, and its one-wedding-a day policy will ensure that you can relax in the comfort of knowing that the house is exclusively yours for the day.
Westport House provides a fairy tale backdrop for capturing those first moments of your married life. Situated in a splendidly romantic parkland setting, the venue has ample photo opportunities with a lake, waterfalls, terraces and beautiful gardens all overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, Clew Bay and Clare Island.
All three floors and thirty rooms of Westport House itself are exclusively open to the bride and groom for your special day. Once inside your guests will be wowed by period features such as the marble staircase, the Angel of Welcome, the intimate library and even, the quirky dungeons.
A welcome drink may be served in the stunning Entrance Hall with guests mingling on the front steps or in the library or touring the house at their leisure. For the meal, your guests will move to the Drawing Room (seating up to 60), a very intimate room where there is a beautiful 19th century hand painted ceiling.
To accommodate up to 120 guests, your party may also be seated in the Long Gallery. Guests will be catered for using our preferred caterers who have proven themselves time and again to deliver delicious fare to guests of Westport House. After dining, the Long Gallery may be cleared for entertainment in the evening. More guests can be welcomed – up to 175 – for the evening celebrations.
Make your wedding at Westport House truly unforgettable with a blessing on the marble staircase under the Angel of Welcome, champagne and canapés in the stunning entrance hall or gardens, bespoke tours of the house and fireworks at dusk. Or if you would rather try something new, we are happy to discuss requirements to ensure we deliver a fabulous event.
A unique attribute of Westport House is that it is still privately owned by the Browne family who built it in 1730. It retains its original features from furniture to magnificent paintings, open fireplaces, parquet floors and breath-taking architecture in every room, encapsulating 300 years of genuine Irish Heritage.
