You know school is out when Westport House re-opens all of the attractions and last Saturday, we re-opened with a bunch of new attractions for 2017.

And we have a brand new video for season showcasing our wares. Check it out!

• The Pirate Adventure Park has added two new rides this year – the Helter Skelter and Chair-o-Planes – on top of Ireland’s only log flume ride, the swinging ship, the iconic giant swans, miniature train, cannon ball run and more. The new rides are included as part of your ticket into the Pirate Adventure Park – tons of fun for families with kids under 12.
• You may have spotted the Big Wheel at Westport House at Christmas. Well, its back!  Yes, the tallest (36m) mobile ferris wheel in Europe is in Westport from now through to September.  You won’t want to miss the jaw dropping views of Croagh Patrick, Clew Bay and the whole estate.
• You can test your competitive streak with some new carnival games – just hit that target to win soft toys to take home.
• Rumbles Restaurants are open in the Pirate Adventure Park and serving angus steak burgers, healthy wraps and a range of delicious fries and excellent coffee!

All of these new attractions are open alongside the beautiful historic house which is open daily until November.  Please note a ticket is needed to access the above – you’re guaranteed a whole day’s fun so please allow enough time to enjoy everything for excellent value.

There’s tons more to do on the estate outside of the ticketed attraction area and if you only have a couple of hours to spend at Westport House.

Daily over the Easter mid-term break, why not take a stroll through the estate on the new greenway to enjoy the Westport Train Tour (sight-seeing tour of the town, estate and quay), the 18th century carousel by Gracy’s Bar & Cafe, Dodgem Cars and more carnival games.

There has been a very exciting development in the farmyard with the opening of a new Birds of Prey Centre. Run by Mayo’s own Master Falconer, Jason Deasy, the centre offers a daily show at 3pm where you can meet Peregrine Falcons, Harris Hawks, Eagle and Barn Owls. You’ll be amazed what you’ll learn about these birds feeding, hunting and living habits.  And if you want to get really up close and personal, you can book your own private hawk walk and have these magnificent animals land like a feather on your own gloved hand.

Easter Egg Hunt – April 16, 2017 @ 11:00 am – 5:00 pm

Mayo’s finest annual Easter Egg Hunt takes place on Easter Sunday from 11am to 6pm. You’ll look high and low for clues to enter to win some great prizes while enjoying the gorgeous grounds of Westport House & Grounds.  Pinkie Rabbit will come back to help us celebrate the holiday and the first 300 children to complete the hunt will receive a FREE easter egg and enter to win some great prizes.  Be sure to get her early –it promises to be an egg-cellent day out for all the gang with the rides and attractions of the Pirate Adventure Park, Birds of Prey, Westport Train Tour, Carnival Rides & Games and of course, the stunning house and peaceful grounds.
