Midterm is less than two weeks away.. and you need a plan to keep the kiddies occupied while they are off. Fear not – Westport House has you covered with an array of fun activities the whole family will enjoy this October midterm.
Westport House will be hosting it’s annual Halloween Fest on the 28th October – 31st October inclusive.
Get ready for plenty of ghoulish delights, scary stories and creepy fun that all the family will be able to enjoy!
Visit the Pirate Adventure Park where you will enjoy thrilling rides on our Pirate Swinging Ship, Log Flume Ride, Chair-O-Planes and Helter Skelter!
Following this, head up to the ‘haunted’ main house to listen to the wicked tales from our White Witch during Scary Story Time, carve a creepy pumpkin to bring home with you (extra charge of €3. You are more than welcome to bring your own pumpkin to avoid this charge), take a visit down to our dark dungeons where the Pirate Queen Grace O’Malley used to lock up her prisoners, decorate some ghoulish goblin cupcakes during our Spooky Spoons workshop and learn how to dance like a zombie at our apocalyptic kiddie’s disco!
The Pirate Adventure Park is OPEN for all of the October midterm, 28th October – November 5th inclusive. Fun for all the family, the Pirate Adventure Park is an adventure not to be missed! Take a ride on the thrilling Pirate Swinging Ship, slide down the Cannonball Run Slide or put your rain gear on and give the Pirate’s Plunge ride a go!
The Great Western Greenway
Did you know that the Greenway goes straight through Westport House estate? If you are looking for a fun, outdoors activity during the midterm, why not rent a few bikes and cycle the gorgeous 42km Great Western Greenway! We promise, you won’t regret it!
Of course, you cannot visit Westport House without actually having a look around inside! Dating back to 1650, the house is steeped in history. A must when visiting the house is a trip down into our scary dungeons, where the famous Pirate Queen Grace O’Malley would lock up her prisoners! There is also an area with ‘funny mirrors’ and a tea room which serves delicious tea, coffee and yummy treats!
So there you have it, your midterm break with the kids is officially sorted!
