As part of Heritage Week 2018, we are delighted to celebrate the humble letter and the difference it has made to generations of Irish lives.
Meet local artist Nicky Dowd. Hear about some of the emotional and amusing letters she has collected from all over the world over the last 20 years dating right back to 1840 and through to the present day. Then see the unique art installation and the documentary they inspired.
This ongoing project celebrates the importance of the humble letter, the stories they told and the beautiful stamps that carried them. A true celebration of the global Irish community and how the letters helped keep those, that were separated, connected.
Optional opportunity to craft your own small tea light to take home. Cuppa tea, coffee and biscuits included for your refreshment. And we hope it might inspire you to pick up the pen or pencil on your own.
