The Pirate Adventure Park is open when the kids are out of school – mid-term breaks, bank holidays, weekends in June and daily in July and August. Please click here to check Opening Times before you travel to avoid any disappointment.

We run family-friendly Special events all year long include our Easter Egg Hunt, Halloween Fest, Winter Wonderland and more.
We have a range of attractions on site and a range of tickets to hopefully suit everyone. Please check out our Park Map which shows all of our broad range of attractions in blue (Westport House), red (Pirate Adventure Park), Westport Train Tour route and orange (Adventure Activities and other Attractions). There truly is something for everyone!

We recommend that the Pirate Adventure Park is best suited to children between the ages of 4 years and 11 years due to height restrictions on certain rides. Please check out height and age restrictions on the individual attractions pages.
As a primarily outdoor attraction, we recommend that you plan appropriately – this may mean sun hats, sun screen, umbrellas and rain gear all on the same day! You can review the weather forecast on the Met Eireann site to plan for your visit and please visit our Useful Information page so that you are fully prepared for a great visit.

Please note that while buggies are highly recommended for use in the extensive gardens, Pirate Adventure Park and campsite, they are unfortunately not permitted in Westport House in an effort to preserve the antique parquet floors. You may park your buggy inside in the ante-library while you tour the House. You might like to bring your own baby carrier or please feel free to borrow one of ours while you’re in the House.

It is important to note that the Pirate Adventure Park is primarily an outdoor attraction. Plan for the outdoors with comfortable shoes, hats, sunscreen, raingear – and a change of clothes if you dare to attempt the Pirate’s Plunge!
There is lots of walking around the attraction so please bring buggies for smaller children.
