Westport, Co. Mayo, 25th February 2014 – Westport House has an egg-citing line up of family friendly events taking place over the Easter mid-term egg-stravaganza in April. With a pie-tastic fundraiser for Multiple Sclerosis North West taking place on Sunday, 13th April, the annual Easter Egg Hunt on Easter Sunday along with the re-opening of the Pirate Adventure Park and Adventure Activity Centre with all the rides, slides, boats, trains and milder to wilder adventures, it sure to be a cracking good time for the whole family.
Egg-scuse me? Did you say Cow Pie Bingo?
On April 13th, to kick off the mid-term open, we are delighted to host a fundraiser called “Cow Pie Bingo” in aid of a Therapy Centre for Multiple Sclerosis in Sligo/Northwest. Cow Pie Bingo is a fun and unique raffle-style fundraiser. A field (in this case, a football pitch) is marked off into a grid by computer software with a number in each square. This grid is our bingo board. Participants buy a square for €3 euro, two for €5 or five for €10. A cow is released onto the pitch and lays a “pie” and for each pie laid, a prize is won. Westport House will offer a 20% discount on family tickets to the attraction to families who support the fundraiser on the day. And if people can’t make it on the day, they can support this very worthwhile cause online at www.cowpiebingo.org.
Easter Egg Hunt on Easter Sunday
Pinkie, the Easter Bunny – and one of Westport House’s oldest residents – will hop out to welcome all the boys and girls who visit her home and she will lead the much-anticipated Easter egg hunt on Easter Sunday, April 20. The Easter Egg hunt will take place through the stunning and freshly blooming parkland grounds with waterfalls, lakes, rolling lawns and scenic backdrop of the beautiful Clew Bay and magnificent Croagh Patrick. And the first 500 kids to complete the hunt will get a complimentary Easter egg as their treasure! Each family that finishes will also be entered to win great prizes, awarded at 5.30pm on the day.

Fun for Little Bunnies All Mid-Term Long
For that little bit eggs-tra why not continue the fun at Westport House’s Pirate Adventure Park, which is suitable for kids under 12. The selection of outdoor amusements in the Park is sure to put a spring in your little bunnies’ step, as they hop from the Cannonball Run slide to the Pirates Swinging Ship and Pirate Plunge log flume ride, the giant Swan Pedaloe boats to the Westport House Express Train Ride. And for a dry option, bounce along to the indoor soft play and the indoor go-karting for the littler ones. There will also be plenty of fun adventure activities for all ages from zorbing to zip wire, archery and combat games. And of course the historic Westport House itself is most definitely worth a visit.
