Mayo Day

Mayo Day is a celebration of our ‘Mayo-ness’ in Mayo communities worldwide and events are taking place in most town’s throughout the county this Saturday – including at Westport House.

We are open all May Bank Holiday weekend long so please come to visit on Saturday, Sunday or Monday from 10am to 6pm daily.

SPECIAL OFFER: GREEN & RED GOES FREE for MAYO DAY
On Saturday, if you wear the Green & Red of Mayo – our county colours – you will be admitted FREE into Westport House & Pirate Adventure Park to enjoy the many rides, slides, boats, trains and attractions ideally suited to families with children under 12. You’ll also enjoy visiting the stunning historic home with over 30 rooms open to the public and 6 permanent exhibitions.  Well wear, folks!

BIKE BUFFET
The ever popular Westport Bike Buffet returns for Mayo Day on Saturday evening at 6.30pm, showcasing the best of Mayo food producers as you cycle. It starts with green and red Mocktails at The Town Hall before a cycle to Hotel Westport for a Mayo Starter. Then it is on to Gracy’s at Westport House for a Mayo Gourmet barbecue, and then to Westport Coast Hotel for a Sweet Mayo Dessert.

LIVE MUSIC AND GIG RIG
To coincide with the bike buffet arriving at Westport Quay, entertainment will be kicking off on the open-air Gig-Rig around 8pm featuring jazz from Ain’t Misbehavin’, Ryan Hennessy and Irish Dance Troupe, Mystic Force.

FIREWORKS AT 10PM
As part of the Westport 250 celebrations, Saturday evening sees fireworks firing from Garvillaun, courtesy of the Browne family and Westport House, and your best view will be from Westport Quay.

All attractions in the Pirate Adventure Park as well as stunning Westport House, Westport Train Tour and the Caravan & Camping Park will be open all May Bank Holiday weekend long. Hi,
This is regarding the free entry on Saturday, if we wear the “Green & Red” of Mayo . I am not from Ireland so could you please help me with the following information—-

    1. Does it mean that we can wear any shirt with green and red colors?. Or something like red shirt and green pants??
    2. Can adults also be permitted with free entry if they wear green and red?

Thanks for your time and patience.

    Best regards,
    Mrs R. Thomas.
