With construction well underway on our New Adventure park at Westport House, we’re thrilled to share an exciting update with you.
Chris and Paul worked their magic this week putting up our truly awesome hoarding – lets take a look.
On May 4th, building work officially commenced on our brand new adventure park. The incredible construction crew are busy laying the foundations for what’s to come.
The upcoming adventure park, situated in the Estate’s quarry area, will showcase an array of thrilling new attractions, including:
- Ireland’s largest Net Park
- Multi-wall climbing zone featuring a double sided, see-through wall
- Two 100m zip lines flying across the dizzying heights of the quarry area
- Giant swings propelling over the high quarry wall
- Stainless steel slide experience with camel humps, curves and corkscrew slides
- The Quick Flight quarry jump platform
- And more to be announced!
Scheduled to open in Spring 2024, the new adventure park promises visitors an unforgettable and invigorating outdoor experience like no other.
While the hoarding provides safety, security and protection, it also contains some exciting details of what you can look forward to.

Westport House recently announced a new vision to transform into a world-class tourism destination and visitor attraction operating on a year-round basis for domestic and international visitors. Part of this plan includes the development of the new Adventure Park.
The plan also includes the creation of create a uniquely Irish landscape experience in conjunction with renowned landscape designer Mary Reynolds and supported by Fáilte Ireland.
Additionally, the project involves the full restoration of Westport House and the reimagining of its 300-year history and the legendary stories of the Browne family and Grace O’Malley. A new dedicated heritage visitor hub with ticketing area, shop, restaurant and terrace area will support these new attractions. This will be integrated into the restored Coach House building near the Main House.
The re-development of Hotel Westport at the edge of the estate is also part of the plans to transform Westport House and Estate.
