Mayo Day

MayoDay 2016 takes place on April 30th, with events being held all throughout the county – and indeed country – on the Saturday of the May Bank Holiday Weekend.
Mayo Day 2015 – the first year of this proud celebration – was a phenomenal success. Individuals, Schools, Business and Communities got behind the unique initiative which saw Mayo people globally celebrate all that is great about our progressive, “can-do” County.
There were also significant gestures with the lighting of iconic attractions including Niagara falls, the National Convention Centre and Westport House to name but a few.
To celebrate the big day, Westport House will admit anyone wearing the green & red of Mayo to Westport House & Pirate Adventure Park for FREE. We encourage you to take a picture of your effort in front of the iconic house and using the #MayoDay and #WestportHouse hashtags, tweet your image.
